Using EENDEED to Measure Remote Employee Engagement: Influence of the Sense of Belonging at Work and the Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) on Virtual Employee Engagement

One organizational trend inherited from the effect of COVID-19 pandemic is increased number remote workers around world. Extending and validating previous knowledge on traditional workplace employees to growing population a requirement for research communities, employee engagement one them. Using EENDEED, validated instrument measuring engagement, this study analyzed influence 1) belongingness or sense belonging at work 2) Leader-Member Exchange (LMX), engagement. After uncovering 2-factor structure (positive negative belongingness) EENDEED which includes PERFORMANCE SELF-RELIANCE, multiple regression analysis was conducted dataset 267 participants, all within United States America. The results statistical confirmed existence significant positive relationship between LMX as well EENDEED. Findings showed that there no also be better influencer compared belongingness. This contributed by extending LMX, belongingness, employees. In other words, perceived notion managers their employees’ perspective great importance in keeping engaged.
